About Lisa Downs
 
Lisa J. Downs founded DevelopmentWise Consulting in 2007 to assist organizations with talent management, learning, and organizational development initiatives. Dedicated to serving clients through personal attention in a collaborative relationship, she focuses her excitement and energy on developing and executing a plan of action and providing services that generate results to meet her clients' needs exactly.
 
Previously, Lisa served as Senior Learning and Organizational Development Specialist for The Growth Partnership, St. Louis, MO, and as Manager of Learning and Development for Clark Nuber PS, in Bellevue, WA. She has also coordinated the Accounting Careers Program for the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants and taught language arts courses at the high school level. She earned her teaching certificate in secondary education in 1996 and has also worked at both public and commercial radio stations in the Midwest.
 
Lisa received her Master of Science in Education degree with a concentration in Adult Education from Western Illinois University in 2000 and completed her undergraduate degree in Speech Communications in 1991 at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. She is also a Certified Program Planner (CPP), a credential focused on developing, marketing, and launching learning programs.

Ms. Downs currently serves as Vice-President of Member Services for the American Society of Training and Development’s Puget Sound Chapter, and is an active member of the International Society for Performance Improvement and national ASTD. Continuing her passion for education and youth development, Lisa serves as a volunteer for Washington DECA and Junior Achievement.
 
Lisa's new listening skills training book, part of the ASTD Trainers WorkShop Series, is due to be released in February, 2008.
